Delete your account

This page applies to the iFire, iCrew and iRescue mobile applications, all published by Kernow Software Ltd. The deletion process is the same across all three apps.
You can delete your account and the personal data associated with it at any time. Two routes are available — pick whichever suits you.
Option 1 — Delete from inside the app
This is the fastest route and is available to anyone who can still sign in.
- Open the app on your phone.
- Tap the menu (top-left) and choose Settings.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
- Confirm when prompted. Your account is removed immediately and you are signed out.
Option 2 — Email request
If you have lost access to the app (lost device, uninstalled, no working email login), email us and we will action the deletion manually.
- Email hello@ifireapp.org from the email address associated with your account.
- Include your full name and the app you use (iFire, iCrew or iRescue).
- We will confirm by reply within 5 working days and complete the deletion within 30 days.
What is deleted
When you delete your account we remove:
- Your profile (name, rank, avatar, email address)
- Your station and crew memberships
- Your availability and responding-status history
- Custom mobilisation alerts you have authored for your station
- Resource markers, photos and notes you have added
- Chat messages you have sent within station or crew channels
- Your registered devices and push-notification (FCM/APNs) tokens
- Any in-app purchase / subscription receipts linked to your account
What is retained, and for how long
To meet our legal, accounting and operational obligations we retain a small amount of information after your account is deleted:
- Server access logs (IP address, timestamp, request path) — retained for up to 90 days for security and abuse monitoring, then deleted.
- Subscription / payment records issued via Apple or Google — retained as long as required by tax and consumer-protection law (typically 6 years in the UK), in a form that does not identify you beyond the platform receipt id.
- Anonymised aggregate usage statistics — retained indefinitely. These contain no personal data and cannot be linked back to you.

Effect on station data
Deleting your account does not delete your colleagues' data or your station's records. If you were the only member of a station, that station will be automatically removed by our scheduled clean-up process. Messages you sent to others remain visible to those recipients with your name replaced by "(deleted user)".
